How Hybrid Vehicle Engines Work and What Sets Them Apart

Regenerative Braking

One of the niftiest tricks of hybrid vehicles is regenerative braking. When you hit the brakes, the electric motor switches roles and becomes a generator. It captures some of the kinetic energy typically wasted as heat during braking and converts it back into electricity, recharging the battery.


The Hybrid Control Unit

Making all these power transitions seamless is the job of the hybrid control unit. Think of it as the maestro conducting an orchestra of engine and motor. It constantly assesses your driving habits, road conditions, and the state of the battery, orchestrating the perfect blend of gasoline and electric power for optimal performance and efficiency.
