Spring Maintenance Tips

With our Second Winter now firmly behind us it is safe to start to plan for the “de-winterizing” of our vehicles.  The long hard winter that we all experienced here in Southwestern Ontario has meant that many things we would normally take care of in April got deferred to May.  At VIP AUTOPRO we are always ready to lend a helping hand and make the most out of your maintenance dollars.

Check Coolant

After the winter months, the coolant in your vehicle may not be up to the challenge of dealing with the coming onslaught of tropical temperatures as the thermometer rises and the length of our pants shortens.  Avoid costly engine damage and have your coolant checked and replaced if needed.

Windshield Wipers

The winter tends to have us use our wipers to clear off heavy snow and sticky ice, damaging our wiper blades and making it increasingly difficult to see when the spring showers hit us.  Avoid streaky wipers and have the blades replaced with summer blades.

Tire Maintenance

Even if you put winter tires on your vehicle in the fall, all that summer driving you did last year may mean that it is time to replace your tires as you swap them out.  At VIP AUTOPRO our service experts can recommend the best value in tires for you and to make life even easier, we offer the VIP Vault (Tire Storage) to ensure you don’t mess up your trunk or back seat hauling your tires to and from the shop.

Spring Cleaning

The salt, snow, muck and mire of the winter has had a lasting effect on your car both inside and out.  Treat your car to a full detailing.  Get rid of any excess salt and avoid premature rusting with a premium wash and wax and have the interior touched up and ready for summer road trips.

Inspect Air Filter

As part of the VIP Courtesy Inspection, we check both the Engine and Cabin Air Filters for you on every visit.  A dirty air filter can reduce your gas mileage by as much as 10% and a dirty cabin air filter can have you breathing in the dust and pollen that is prevalent everywhere this time of year.

Take care of your car, and it will take care of you.  These quick and easy tips can save you money in the long run and make your daily commute or weekend getaway far more pleasant!

Cheers,

Otto
