BrakesSafetyTripWinter

We all know that one of the brakes are a crucial safety feature on our vehicles but most of us take them for granted until the constant wear means that we have a potentially costly brake repair on our hands.  Some driving conditions can be harder on brakes than others, this includes stop-and-go driving, heavy traffic as well as sharp turns and hills, but regardless of whether you live in the city or the country there are a few steps that you can take to extend the life of your brakes and in the long run…possible save you a few bucks at the same time.

Regular Brake Service is just as important as oil changes and keeping on top of the regular maintenance of your vehicle’s braking system can mean the difference between a close call and an unfortunate accident that could cost you far more than the money spent on servicing.

At VIP AutoPro, our Service Specialists know how your brakes function and can make the adjustments and give you the heads up for minor repairs rather than full replacement.  The braking system is composed of many parts that are all subject to wear and tear, the most commonly replaced components are the Pads and Shoes.

The typical VIP Brake Service begins with the inspection of the braking system to ensure that it is not time to replace any worn parts.  During this inspection, our Service Specialists will take the time to resurface brake rotors and drums (if possible) and replace the Brake Fluid if needed.  The process typically can take up to 90 minutes but is far less costly than waiting until all these parts need to be replaced.

Don’t wait until your brakes are grinding and squealing or worse you are sliding through a stop sign.  With winter fast approaching, taking the time to service your brakes now will ensure you are stopping safely and keeping you out of the ditch when the snow inevitably starts to fly!

Cheers,

Otto
